Creator Saga is a tabletop game in development by Chris Lemmon. This page covers creatorsaga.net. In short: we keep only what we need to know it’s you, we never sell it, and you can have it deleted whenever you like.
Browsing the site
You can read the site without an account. We don’t use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. Our host, Netlify, keeps ordinary server logs (such as IP addresses and the pages requested) for a short time to run and protect the site.
Your account
When you sign up with Google or Discord, they tell us your name, email address and profile picture, plus an ID that lets us recognise you next time. We never see your Google or Discord password, and we can’t post anything for you.
We use this only to sign you in, to show your name on your account, and to open the parts of the site that are for registered players. Your account is stored with Supabase, the service that runs our sign-in.
Team accounts
Some accounts belong to people helping to make the game, such as artists and playtesters. We give a team account one or more roles, usually by inviting its email address before the first sign-in, or with a private invitation link we send to the person; until then we keep only that address and the roles waiting for it. For a link we keep the roles it gives, a short note on who it’s for, how many people may use it and until when, and which accounts joined with it. Each role opens only the rooms it needs: an artist sees the art board, and a playtester sees the feedback form and their own feedback. A vendor (a shop ordering from us) sees only their own orders, and we keep the shop’s name, contact details and address with each order to fill and ship it. Team members don’t see anyone else’s account or email address, though your name may show beside your work to others in the same room. To leave the team or have a role removed, email us; taking away a role doesn’t delete your account, and you can still ask us to delete it as described below.
Saved characters
If you keep a character from the Stat Block, we store it with your account: the name you give it and the character itself (its attributes, armor, cards and name, the same text as the Stat Block’s link), with the date. Only you can see, rename or remove your saved characters; removing one deletes it.
Asking to playtest
When you ask to join the playtest from your account page, we keep your request: who you play with, where, and any note you add, with the date and whether we said yes. The admins see it to answer it. If we say yes, your account becomes a playtester’s and we add you to our list of contacts as one. As a playtester, an admin may answer your feedback; the answer is kept with it, and only you and the team see it.
Stores and the press
A store that applies on the For Stores page (signed in) gives us the store’s name, city and state, the applicant’s name and email, and anything else they add (a phone number, website, address, their events, a note). We keep it as a business contact to answer the application and, if approved, to sell to the store; we never ask for tax numbers or bank details. If the store asks to be listed under “Where to buy”, its name, city, state and website are shown to everyone; ask us any time to take it off. Someone from the press who asks for a review copy on the Press page gives us their name, email, outlet and note, which we keep as a press contact to answer them; the site keeps a count of requests for a day to stop the form being used to flood us. Either can ask us to delete it.
Cookies and storage
Once you sign in, your browser keeps your sign-in so you don’t have to repeat it on every page, and one small cookie lets our server confirm you’re signed in. Signing out clears both. Some pages also remember small conveniences in your browser, such as where you were in the Handbook; that never leaves your device.
The mailing list
“Get Notified” is our mailing list, which Mailchimp runs for us. You join only if you choose to: on the Get Notified page, with the box on the sign-in sheet, or from your account page. An address you type in is confirmed by email before anything is sent; if you join while signed in, we use the address on your account. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and leaving the list doesn’t touch your account.
Emails about your work
If you’re on the team or order from us, the site emails you about your part in it: art given to you, sent back with notes or approved; your orders as they’re received, confirmed, paid and shipped; a new version of the game to playtest; and the like. They come from hello@creatorsaga.net, sent through Google’s Gmail, and we keep a note of each (who it went to, what it was about and when) for 90 days. Your account page lists the kinds you can get: turn off any you don’t want, or all of them. The one email we send to someone without an account is an invitation, when we invite that address to the team.
Writing to us
A message sent from the Contact page comes to our inbox as an email, with your name and the address you gave so we can answer; it isn’t stored on the site. To stop the form being used to flood us, the site counts how many messages arrive from one connection in an hour, by a scrambled code of it, never the address itself, and forgets the count within a day.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell, rent or share your information with anyone for marketing. We share it only with the services named above, which run the site for us, or if the law requires it.
Deleting your account
Email hello@creatorsaga.net from the address on your account and we’ll delete it and everything attached to it. You can also remove Creator Saga’s access from your Google or Discord account settings at any time.
Children
Accounts are for people 13 and over. If you believe a child under 13 has signed up, email us and we’ll delete the account.
Changes and questions
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. Questions? Email hello@creatorsaga.net.
